對於6-8mm的固體結節，根據結節的形狀和大小，首次對低風險結節進行6-12個月的隨訪。如果是惡性或難以確定，可以隨訪6-12個月後。這些結節的惡性風險很低。但是，具體的問題需要具體分析。將不同觀察對象的危險因素、結節形態和精確測量相結合，更適合於調整隨訪期的持續時間。

對於6-8mm的單個固體結節，高危人群建議進行6-12個月的初步隨訪和18-24個月的隨訪，這應由個別因素和個人意願決定。很難確定是否需要進一步跟蹤穩定的結核。兩次隨訪大多能滿足臨床診斷的需要.

對於多個實性肺結節，小於6mm可考慮感染的原因，焦點3-6個月的第一次隨訪不變，可根據實際臨床隨訪2-4年來確定其穩定性。在多個亞固體結節中，其中一個大於6mm，應根據最可疑的結節，同時考慮感染的原因。如果3-6個月還存在，考慮多發原發腺癌。

趙世軍教授說，當結節數目從1到4個之間時，原發性肺癌的風險會增加，但當計數到5個或更多時，風險就會降低，這可能是由於感染所致。有多種模型可以確定肺結節是否良性，如Mayo模型、哥倫比亞BCCA模型、泛加拿大模型和利物浦模型。其中Mayo模型較為經典，包括年齡、吸煙、腫瘤病史、結節大小、是否有毛刺、結節是否位於上葉等六個因素。利物浦模式的中文和英文都很容易使用，可以在五年內在線評估患肺癌的風險。

大腸癌是香港常見癌症的首位，但不少人仍然擔心到醫院做大腸鏡檢查，會帶來不適而錯過治療良機，其實大腸癌是唯一可以預防的癌症，只要透過檢查，及早發現及切除大腸瘜肉，便可避免變成癌症，所以定期接受檢查，是對付腸癌的最好方法。
